Distance Knitting
Welcome
What's new?
I am now back from teaching in Australia. The teaching went very well and I also had a great time over there. To see some of the places we visited go to my blog
I have been booked to teach a number of workshops including 'Felted Knitting and Needle Felting', 'Toe-up Sock Knitting', 'Lace Knitting' and 'Beginners Crochet'. For more details on where I am teaching see the bottom of this page or the Events page.
I have also designed several felted knitted bags using a variety of felting yarns including the felting wool from Knitting4fun, Noro Kureyon and Twilleys Freedom Spirit. The bag at the top right hand side is knitted in Noro Kureyon using a modular knitting technique and the bag below opposite is knitted using the modular diamonds technique.
As well as the Felted Knitting workshop I have been asked to teach a workshop for beginners, 'Beyond a Scarf'. This workshop is aimed at encouraging new knitters to try knitting a garment and will cover basic shaping and finishing techniques as well as understanding knitting patterns. Along side this workshop I am developing a series of 'Learn to Knit...' patterns of basic garments with detailed instructions of how to work shaping techniques as if I was sat with you.
I am writing for a number of knitting magazines including 'Knitting', 'Let's Knit', 'Yarn Forward' and the new Internet magazine The Inside Loop. The picture below is 'Moonstone' the cashmere jumper design published in the November issue of Knitting.
